ONE Year! Y’all my last baby is turning one day and I’m a little in denial. How in the world has a full year gone by so quickly? Leading up to her birthday, I keep thinking of ideas to give her the most beautiful floral cake smash in Houston. I’ve also really been drawn to balloons lately, so I’m really excited to share with you what we came up with!
Photographs and Video
One of the things that was SO important to me for Bree’s birthday was to be able to capture both video and still photographs from her cake smash session. Photographs, both printed and digital are classic ways to document a family, and of course, I love them. However, our world is so very digital now. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel that films are making a strong come back here! I’m not talking about your home videos of Christmas morning from 1989, folks. I’m now looking for simple, timeless mini-films that really showcase personality in a way that a still photograph can not. For example, I created this simple film from my kiddos Christmas PJs this year! My husband and I adore it because it’s so true to our real life! I really believe that these mini films are the best way to truly capture emotion and personality!
Cake Smash with Balloons and Flowers
Bree’s beautiful floral cake smash in Houston was a complete work of good friends and a village around me. The balloon garland was created by my friend, Us Plus Love Photography. As usual, the flowers were from my amazing florist, Taylor, with Piney Rose Flowers & Decor. My new friend, Julie, with Little Girl’s Pearls sent us Bree’s beautiful necklace as well! It is absolutely stunning in person!
