What to wear for family pictures

Hello, hello! There are only a handful of questions that every family asks, but “what should we wear” is always one of them! One of my favorite things about Frisco family photography is that we have the ability to wear almost anything! When you’re ready to start thinking about your clothing for your portrait session, I’ll be ready to help you! Each session booked (newborn, family, etc) comes with one in-person studio consultation to chat about your vision and your wardrobe! I also still really love this blog post with some excellent styling tips!

The Client Closet | Frisco Family Photography Wardrobe

It’s been about 2 years since I started my studio wardrobe for Frisco family photography. It has been such a game changer for my clients! Each time I add something new to the wardrobe, I fall more in love with the collection. I love providing clothing for my clients that is flattering, versatile, and photographs beautifully! Currently, I have clothing for women in sizes small to extra large, and children (both boys and girls) wearing a 4T and under. You’ll just need to bring basic undergarments and neutral shoes! I even have ivory knee high socks for girls and a few bows!

Where to Shop

Women

Mamas, I LOVE to see you in lace or florals!

Men

Pro Tip: Dad’s outfits are usually the easiest ones to find! Shop for them last!

Girls

Girl Mom Tip: Knee high socks are seriously making a come back and I love seeing your girls in them! Don’t forget shoes, bonnets, or bows, too!

Boys

Boy Mom Tip: Boy accessories are hard to nail down, but SO worth it when you do! Think hats, suspenders, boy ties, etc!

A Little Inspiration for Frisco Family Photography

Okay, so we’ve got the client closet, and a list of places to look for high quality clothing. Let’s see some inspiration, too! My number one tip is to have fun and play with accessories! They can really make your outfit. Finally, watch you’re patterns. I suggest having no more than one pattern in a family. For example, if mom is wearing a floral gown, I would keep everyone else in solid colors. We can add texture (like tulle in your daughter’s dress or linen in your son’s pants) to add some pop!

How to book your family session

If you have not booked your session with me, yet, I’d love to chat with you more! You can view all of my family photography details here! I am only accepting a small number of families this fall, so be sure to book your session early! I would love to meet you at my studio to discuss your family and your vision for your family portraits! Pre-session consults are a great way to get to know me, my style, and make sure your portrait vision comes to life! I hope to meet you soon!
