First Year Portraits: Fort Worth
As a baby photographer, I have the incredible honor of witnessing and preserving some of the most precious moments in life. One of the most magical journeys I get to celebrate is a baby’s first year portraits. It’s a time filled with wonder, growth, and an abundance of love – moments that deserve to be captured and cherished forever.
When your little one enters the world, time seems to take on a new meaning. Days blend into nights, and before you know it, that tiny newborn is giggling, crawling, and taking those unforgettable first steps. Each phase of this journey is unique and fleeting, and that’s why photographing your baby’s first year is so important.
First Year Portraits at The Lumen Room
I have had the pleasure of photographing two of this sweet baby’s first year portraits. This sweet session was at one of the Lumen Room locations in Dallas, but we could accomplish this exact look at almost any of the Lumen Room locations across the metroplex!

What to Expect
Much like my newborn sessions, milestone and first year portraits are very baby led. I try to give them different things to do with various props and we keep things moving so that the babies aren’t bored. We will try to get them sitting, crawling, and maybe even standing. If your baby has a favorite blanket, stuffed animal, or lovie, I highly recommend bringing it!
I also recommend bringing two to three outfits. Sometimes, we can get the babies into a third outfit. My experience has been that after that, they’re usually pretty done with us! So, to be best prepared, bring a 3rd outfit just in case!
