When I first started my business in 2017, I began as an outdoor family photographer. I absolutely loved babies & the newborn side of photography, but I knew it would take a while to get the training and background that I really needed to safely and confidently photograph tiny babes. So, that’s exactly what I did. I mentored with several photographers, attended conferences, and took classes on topics like composition, lighting, safety, and much more. Somewhere along the way, I really honed in on my strengths and became most recognized for my studio newborn photography in Fort Worth. (Actually, even my non-newborn sessions, like family, cake smashes, and milestones became most popular as studio sessions!)

Light & Airy Studio Newborn Photography
One of my favorite things about photographing newborns in a studio is the abundance of natural light. Natural Light is truly one of the most important aspects of light and airy portrait style. There are studios all over the DFW metroplex with large windows, and white walls to help us achieve that bright look that my clients love so much!

What Studio Can We Use?
For families near Aledo and Fort Worth, I primarily photograph studio newborn sessions at The Lumen Room in Willow Park. Its soft natural light and clean, neutral setting work beautifully with the light and airy style my families love. If you have older kiddos, we can even stop by the precious ice cream shop downstairs when we finish! I know the kids will love it!
Otherwise, there are a TON of studios all over DFW that we can use! The session featured in this post was actually photographed at Lemon Drop Studios in McKinney, which is also a very popular location for me.

Planning your Studio Newborn Session
I recommend reserving your newborn session during your second trimester. We’ll reserve your due date and choose your session date once your baby arrives. Parents and siblings are always welcome, and we’ll plan the studio location together.
Getting Ready for Your Newborn Session
Getting everyone ready with a new baby at home can feel like a lot. I’ll help you choose clothing for your family and send you a preparation guide so you know what to expect. I also provide the wraps, blankets, bows, and little accessories for your baby’s portraits. You don’t need to shop for all those tiny details! We’ll keep things simple, with soft colors and natural textures that let your sweet baby be the focus.
