November of 2022 was my last day in my own studio, but that hasn’t stopped me from finding beautiful studios all over the metroplex! There are a TON of studios open to photographers from Dallas to Fort Worth, and all the suburbs in between!
How does it work?
Honestly, these studios to rent in DFW are VERY easy! In most cases, a photographer purchased a space, made it perfect, and then rents it out to other photographers by they hour. Each studio varies in what is included, aesthetic, etc. Some studios have props, furniture, couches, cribs, beds, etc. Others, are just a clean slate. Many studios have white walls, but others might be exposed brick. The studio we choose, is totally up to you!
How much do they cost?
Most of the studios are owned by different people. Pricing can vary, but in general, it’s about $90-$120 per hour. Milestones, family sessions, and maternity sessions only need one hour, while newborn sessions need two hours.
1. Lemon Drop Studios (McKinney)
Lemon Drop is located in Downtown McKinney and has two areas available to book. I love this one for newborn sessions because it has a settee, a bassinet, a crib, and a bed. The lighting is beautiful and its also very easy to book! They also have fun pop-up themes throughout the year!
2. Lumen Room (Plano)
The Lumen Room Plano is another location that I have used often. It is bright white with plenty of natural light provided be the large windows. The most prominent wall is a painted white brick and very cute! There are also chairs and couches available. This is also the location for my 2023 Santa Minis on the Dallas side of town.
3. The Photo Loft: West End (Dallas)
The Photo Loft is a small, but simple space. It has elevators to go up to the 7th floor, plenty of natural light, and a few available props to set up a mock living space. This space has a black painted area as well as white. It would be a great space for maternity or family portraits.
4. The Photo Loft: Design District Light
The Photo Loft at the Design District is a perfect space for those wanting a trendy, yet homey vibe. This would be a great space for branding sessions, homey newborn sessions, and family sessions.
5. The Lumen Room (Dallas)
The “lifestyle” Lumen Room in Dallas is a perfect spot for family, newborn, and maternity sessions. One of those has beautiful trim detail! This location also has it’s own unique light wood flooring and seating options for your portraits.
6. The Sub Chateau (Celina)
The Sub Chateau is a beautiful home in Celina. It is perfect for family sessions and even newborns!
Fort Worth Area
1 Pink Pineapple Studio (Bedford)
Pink Pineapple is studio to rent that is located in Bedford, Tx. There is often a super fun themed set-up here. Their sister location New Light Studio, is available in Bedford without the set-up.
2. Lumen Room Panther Island (Fort Worth)
The Lumen Room Panther Island will be the location for my 2023 Santa Minis on the Fort Worth side of town! This location has really pretty white walls with some trim detail that I love. There is also a black wall that would be wonderful for maternity sessions as well as a pink couch!
2. Lumen Room Lifestyle (Fort Worth)
Like all of the Lumen Room spaces, this one is extremely versatile with a lot to offer my clients! I love this one for all types of sessions, especially those looking for bright and airy spaces with a little bit of warmth.
