Hi, friends! I am so excited to share this adorable Dallas maternity session from my studio here in the Dallas area! Being a newborn and maternity photographer can be a struggle with our crazy weather, so the studio has been a savior during these winter months!
This sweet expecting couple joined me in the studio right after the snowstorm cleared. It had been such a stressful couple of days so it was good to get back to the studio. We had so much fun- photographing their beautiful connection was an absolute joy.
While beating the heat (or snow!) is definitely a benefit of using the studio for your maternity portraits, there are so many other reasons why I love it!
Top 5 Reasons to Choose a Dallas Maternity Session in the Studio
Maternity Photographer in Dallas TX
1. Ability to wear more than one outfit
As you can see this sweet Mama tried on several different looks and we honestly loved ALL of them on her! This option is great because you can do both casual and dressier looks with studio sessions, whereas outdoors we typically stick to one outfit. Studio maternity sessions are also an opportunity to wear a more intimate option for wardrobe if interested. I’m in love with the way the Free People bralette photographs with a pair of jeans or chunky knit sweater!
As a bonus, there’s no need to try on outfits (unless you’re bringing something from home) before your session because everything will be at the studio and prepared for you when you arrive.
2. Convenience and Comfort
Being comfortable in the studio space is a huge factor in how well your gallery turns out. Especially when there are toddlers involved! There are less distractions in the studio than outdoors for the new big brother or sister! If you’re going to do a studio newborn session, this also gives them an opportunity to be familiar with the space as well.
3. Classic images with a focus on your family
There’s just a classic, simplicity of studio sessions that look so beautiful in gallery walls and albums. The focus is truly on your love for baby and family’s connection in the studio. The neutral backdrop also allows for a more cohesive look with future sessions as well.
4. Avoid the inclement weather
Obviously in Dallas we have some crazy weather, so studio sessions keep us from melting in the Texas summer heat and still fit a session in during our cold, unpredictable winters. There’s no need to worry about sweating or wind blowing your hair.
5. Versatility
The nice thing about my studio is it’s a blank canvas with a lot of beautiful, natural light. I switch up angles and use furniture like a bed or a bench. Plus, we can use different backgrounds like this Mama did with the black backdrop! Your maternity session can really be tailored to fit your vision in the studio.
