Hi friends! I have something fun for you today! Small businesses need some love right now, so I figured this is a perfect time to share some of my favorite restaurants to visit in the McKinney area after your family photography session!
I’m often asked about how to prep kids for family sessions and I’m a huge proponent of making it a special family day. Tell them you’ll play and be silly together during the session, then have a family dinner (or dessert) after!
For the session below I met up with Mandi, a fellow photographer, and her beautiful family for a sunset session. In the winter, sunset sessions take place earlier so kids are typically ready for dinner right after! Afterwards, dinner at a nearby restaurant can be a fun way to end the day with your littles. You’re also likely to have an appetite after all of that playtime! Fill their bellies so they’re ready for bath and bed when you get home, right?!
So if you’re needing some fuel after your session, here some of my favorites in the McKinney area!
Top Five Restaurants to Visit after your Family Photography session near McKinney
This is one of my absolute favorites! Their motto is “eat, drink & play outside” so you can’t get more family-friendly than that! If you have kiddos like mine that can’t sit still through a full meal in a restaurant, this is the place for you! Plus the food is delicious, it’s close to my studio, and locally-owned.
Harvest is a farm-to-table concept located in the historic downtown McKinney Square, near my studio! It’s locally-owned and their menu is full of delicious options made with local and seasonal ingredients.
This fast-food style restaurant has a big outdoor playground, so its perfect for running off any extra steam the kids have after your session! Plus a patio, tvs for the Dads, and the best made-to-order burgers.
This is our family’s favorite casual pizza spot! If you ask my middle child, he’d eat here everyday if he could. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
Best Southern food in the area, hands down! The biscuits are amazing!! It’s a rustic, casual chicken restaurant with family-style meals.
Bonus: Rick’s Chophouse
Finally, if you’re coming from a maternity session (and have the luxury of a date night… I’m so jealous!), you can’t beat Rick’s! The chophouse salad is to die for! It’s a great spot for a nice dinner, and an excuse to keep your hair and makeup done a little longer!
